Main purpose of role:
The Assistant Financial Accountant (EMEA) plays a key role in supporting the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across multiple EMEA entities. The role is responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, statutory compliance, and high-quality management information.
The primary purpose of the role is to:
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts across the EMEA region.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory reporting requirements in multiple jurisdictions.
- Support continuous improvement of financial processes, controls and reporting efficiency.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Perform monthly accountingacross7EMEA entities.
- Prepare and post standard journals, including accruals and prepayments.
- Create and maintain fixed asset records and run monthly depreciation.
- Complete monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.
- Deliver monthly reporting within group deadlines.
Tax & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Support in various tax matters such as VAT returns and Intrastat.
Audit & Controls
- Support interim and year-end audits across EMEA entities, liaising with external auditors to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure audit-ready documentation.
Process Improvement & Ad Hoc Support
- Identify opportunities to simplify and streamline existing processes.
- Support ad-hoc departmental tasks and cross-functional initiatives as required.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- AAT qualified or studying toward ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (part-qualified desirable).
Experience & Technical Skills
- Good understanding of general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Experience with ERP systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
