Controller, Americas

Package Description

In this newly created role, you will oversee accounting operations and provide IFRS/GAAP guidance for the Americas. 

  • Manage all corporate accounting functions for the Americas including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, fixed assets, cost & inventory accounting and reconciliations
  • Be the subject matter expert on revenue recognition, lease accounting and current GAAP/IFRS topics
  • Prepare and publish timely and accurate monthly financial statements, including ensuring all inter-company transactions are recorded appropriately
  • Assume the lead role in month-end and year-end close process
  • Collaborate with the external auditors for annual audit work & coordinating the annual physical inventory
  • Maintain an effective system of internal controls over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
  • Work with third-party income tax preparers to ensure accurate and timely income filings (federal and state)
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to ensure consistency and efficiency in operations
  • Drive effective cash management through best practices in collections and payables as well as lead short-term cash flow forecasting for the Americas
  • Manage a small team across multiple accounting functions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial strategy and decision-making

Experience Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • CPA certification required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required, including proven experience in a finance leadership role
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or proficiency in similar accounting software strongly preferred
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or proficiency in a similar financial consolidation and reporting tool strongly preferred
  • Experience with multi-currency accounting for transactions and translations
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
