Overall Responsibility

Management of all finance related activities for Britax’ Americas region. As a strategic Finance partner for the President, Americas, and a key member of the global Finance leadership team, ensure compliance with external and group guidelines and regulations, drive the financial performance, development and execution of strategic plans.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Finance lead for monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reviews, budgets, forecast and long range plans
  • External reporting & Tax Compliance, including managing relationships with external auditors and tax advisors, as well as timely tax filing and reporting obligations.
  • Treasury management (bank accounts and FX requirements), in coordination with Group Treasury
  • Implementation and maintenance of robust systems and processes for proper recording of all financial transactions and maintenance of financial records and asset registers, including documented work instructions, processes and procedures
  • Ensure the organization’s financial activities comply with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, ethical standards and good corporate governance practices
  • Serve as primary business partner for Marketing and Sales, analyzing and driving commercial performance across product lines and channels, developing Revenue and Profitability Budgets, providing decision modeling and support with pricing, rebates, gross-to-net impacts, market pricing, distributors margin, commercial agreements and contracts, and other critical aspects of Britax’s retailers and distributors relationship.
  • Manage product and customer P&Ls, drive cross-functional understanding of business profitability drivers, including advertising and promotion impact, product costs, product pricing, customer trade spend.
  • Assist sales and marketing teams with, Forecasts and Strategic Plans, and track business performance against these plans.
  • Drive critical financial analysis (ROI, NPV and payback) and prepare major business case, in particular for New Product Development initiatives, including impact of product cannibalization, share gains, R&D efficiency. Partner with Product Marketing and Sales to understand volume potential and price positioning in the market of new products as well as cost/benefit associated with product features.
  • Approve pricing (both for new products and as a result of any price list changes) and supervise load into ERP (Microsoft AX).
  • Support the Sales & Operations planning process with sales and supply chain teams to ensure sound supply and working capital performance.
  • Provide recommendations and analytical support to the sourcing / production teams
  • Develop and monitor departmental budget spending
  • Serve as the "go to" person on all financial (non-accounting) matters within the business unit
  • Leads Finance support for Britax Americas for Cost Out projects activities to include but not limited to tracking, validation, and reporting.
  • Oversee Monthly Cost Center reporting and reviews. Lead reviews and coordinate meeting with key Britax America’s leadership team
  • Lead, coach, develop finance team across accounting and FP&A functional areas
  • Participate in or lead global strategic, high-impact business initiatives, and collaborate with other finance and non-finance leaders to bring projects to fruition.

 

Skills and Attributes

  • Communication – ability to explain financial statements and business performance drivers, assist the Global CFO and regional President in driving business performance, effectively communicate within the Americas team on the regional financial performance.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and influence business direction with leaders across functions.
  • Analytical – ability to analyze trends and look for exceptions; ability to isolate larger drivers of variances to plans and prior years; ability to construct forward looking models etc.
  • Organization – ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and bringing those projects to completion on a timely basis
  • Self-starter – ability to recognize business challenges and offer solutions without direction

 

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree, CPA, MBA, CMA preferred
  • Minimum 8 years combined progressive controllership and financial planning and analysis experience required, including leadership roles.
  • Retail, Distribution, FMCG, consumer discretionary and manufacturing industry experience a plus
  • Strong technology skills and experience; leverages systems to drive efficiencies
  • Experience with modern CPM, ERP, visualization software (eg Oracle Financial Cloud, MS Dynamics, PowerBI, etc)
